Locati Edge (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a registered 501(c)(3) organization that awards opportunity scholarships to youth who are interested in pursuing experiential learning in the areas of art, education and amateur sports. We operate our website, https://www.locatiedge.org (our “Site”) to provide information concerning our youth scholarship program, intake scholarship applications, and collect charitable donations. When we collect personal information about you through our Site, we use that information to respond to inquiries about our program, process any scholarship applications you may elect to submit, collect payment information from you in the event you elect to make a donation, trouble-shoot problems, and improve the overall appearance and functionality of our Site. You can learn more about the personal information we collect and what we do with it in this policy (our “Privacy Policy”).

Our mission is to make scholarship opportunities available for children and young adults. For that reason, we accept scholarship applications for children under the age of 13. This Privacy Policy discusses the personal information we collect as part of a scholarship application and the third-party service providers who will have access to that information. All applications submitted by a child or young adult under the age of 18 must include the consent of the applicant’s parent or legal guardian to our processing and use of any personal information submitted to us as part of the application. If we learn we have collected or received personal information directly from a child under the age of 18, without the required parental consent, we will delete that information upon discovery.

Please read this policy carefully to understand our policies and practices regarding your information and how we will treat it. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, you must discontinue your use of the Site. We update this policy from time to time, so you should check back regularly for updates. Your continued use of this Site after we make changes is deemed to be agreement to and acceptance of those changes, so please check the policy periodically for updates.

1. Information We Collect

Locati Edge is based in Montana and does not specifically target our services to the residents of any other state. For purposes of this policy, “personal data” means any information that is linked or reasonably linkable to an identified or identifiable individual. Common examples of personal data include your name and address, email address, account passwords and credentials, and data generated by your activity on our Site that can be used to identify you.

The categories of personal information we collect through our Site can include the following:

  • Contact information you provide directly, such as your name, email address, mailing address, and phone number when you send us a message or complete a scholarship application.
  • Your age and grade level. Please bear in mind that submission of a scholarship application for a child or young adult under the age of 18 must include your parent or legal guardian’s consent to our collection and use of that information. Parents and legal guardians must provide their full names and contact information.
  • Information concerning your hobbies or activities that you may elect to provide in connection with a scholarship application. This information can be submitted to us in an unstructured message, so it may include personal information about your family, your school, or your location.
  • Information submitted in an unstructured question or message to us.
  • Information concerning the appropriate recipient and payment of scholarship funds.
  • Payment information, in the event you elect to make a donation through our Site.
  • Letters, photos and videos submitted by the parents or legal guardians of scholarship recipients of their child engaging in the activity for which they received the scholarship, or thanking Locati Edge and its donors for the scholarship opportunity. We do not accept or post recipient submissions provided directly to us by anyone under the age of 18. Parents or legal guardians must submit all recipient photographs or videos from an account belonging to the parent or legal guardian and provide their consent to our posting of the submitted material.
  • Automatically collected information, such as IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, and referring URLs, collected through cookies and similar tracking technologies.

2. How We Use Information

We may use information we collect to:

  • Respond to inquiries and provide information concerning our scholarship opportunities.
  • Process and manage scholarship applications, including contacting applicants and communicating application status updates.
  • Contact and correspond with parents in connection with the submission of a scholarship application for their child.
  • Operate, maintain, secure, and improve our Site and our programs.
  • Publicize our organization and its mission through the posting of recipient photos and videos to our Site.
  • Process donations made through our Site.
  • Analyze Site usage and traffic trends.
  • Investigate, establish and enforce our rights with respect to the Site, including violations of our Terms of Use.
  • Comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal obligations.

3. How We May Share Information

We do not sell or share your personal information. However, our Site requires the services of several third-party service providers to operate. These third-party service providers collect your personal information on our behalf, but may share your personal information with subprocessors or set third-party cookies or tracking technologies on your device in connection with their services. Scholarship Applications

Scholarship applications submitted through the Site are processed using Jotform, a service that facilitates the creation and use of internet-based forms. Our scholarship application requires the submission of personal information, including the recipient’s name, age, grade level, home address, and a description of the activity or hobby they would like to pursue. Parents can review the scholarship application here: https://form.jotform.com/211474682373055. We do not accept scholarship applications submitted by anyone under the age of 18.

If you submit a scholarship application to us through the Site, Jotform will have a copy of your submission by virtue of the form being hosted on their platform. Jotform is responsible for securing the form submission data as part of the service they provide, and does not send or actively share your submission data with third parties. However, Jotform does utilize certain subprocessors, including certain AI providers, who help provide Jotform’s services. In some cases, a subprocessor may have access to information submitted in your scholarship application. If you do not consent to the sharing of recipient information with Jotform, do not submit a scholarship application to us using our online application form. It is hosted by Jotform and Jotform will have a copy of any submission you make to us using the Jotform service.

Recipient Videos

If you provide us with a video of your recipient using their scholarship grant, we may post that video to our Site using YouTube’s embedded video service. YouTube’s services are provided by Google, and subject to Google’s terms of use and privacy policy. This portion of our Site includes third-party cookies and other tracking technologies that have been set by YouTube and Google to collect analytics concerning your interaction with their services. Google uses the information it collects through cookies and tracking technologies to understand how their services are used, enhance the content, quality and features of their service, and develop and improve new services. Your internet browser will enable you to select to receive or block cookies under various conditions. However, should you choose to decline or block cookies by adjusting your browser settings, you may disrupt the operation of cookies that are essential to our Site. Donations

You have the option of notifying us that you are making a donation through our Site using a form hosted by Jotform. At this time, we do not collect any bank or credit card information and do not have the ability to process payments through our Site. However, if you elect to provide information concerning a proposed donation, we will collect your name and contact information as well as the frequency and amount of your intended donation. We may use this information to contact you concerning your donation, to provide you a receipt, and to follow-up on any questions or comments you submitted through our Site. Please do not submit payment information or personal information concerning a recipient through the unstructured message fields available on our donation page.

Google reCAPTCHA

Our Site uses Google reCAPTCHA to protect from spam, abuse, and fraud. Google reCAPTCHA works by analyzing user behavior and other factors to determine if an action is being performed by a human or a bot. If suspicious activity is detected, reCAPTCHA may take action to prevent unauthorized access, such as presenting a challenge or blocking the interaction altogether. Like the YouTube service embedded in our Site, the reCAPTCHA will set certain third-party cookies on your device associated with “google.com,” including both functional cookies necessary to operate the reCATCHA and analytics cookies used by Google to understand and improve their services.

5. Links to Other Websites

Our Site contains plug-ins and embedded video that link to YouTube through the “Edge in Action” page. You can activate these plug-ins by clicking on the “Watch on YouTube” option in the lower right-hand corner of each video, or copying the link and inserting it into your browser manually. If you do so, the collection and use of your personal data will be subject to Google’s privacy policy. We have no control over the collection and use of your information by Google, should you elect to leave our homepage and watch any of our embedded videos on YouTube’s site.

For your convenience, additional hyperlinks may be posted on our Site that link to external websites we do not control. We are not responsible for, and this policy does not apply to, the privacy practices of other companies. You should not assume that our policy applies to any external sites, or that the policies applicable to those sites are similar to ours. 6. Your Privacy Rights and Options

Locati Edge is based in the State of Montana. We value your confidence and trust in us and take the privacy of your information extremely seriously. If you have a question or concern about this privacy policy and our use of personal information, please contact us. Even if the law in Montana is different from your home jurisdiction, we will still do our best to resolve any requests you may have. We may elect to fulfill your request without conceding the applicability of any legal requirement that would require us to do so.

If you would like to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of your personal data, or the personal data of a recipient for whom you are the parent or legal guardian, please contact us at the email address below. Remember to include “Privacy Rights Request” in the subject of your email, so we can get it to the right people. If we are in possession of your personal data, or the data of a recipient for whom you are the parent or legal guardian, we will confirm receipt of your request and contact you to verify your identity and relationship with the recipient, as applicable. The method by which we will verify your identity may vary, depending on the type and sensitivity of your personal data, the risk of harm, and the technology available to you. If we cannot verify your identity with reasonable certainty, we will deny your request and inform you that your identity could not be verified. Although you are under no obligation to cooperate with our efforts to verify your identity, we cannot act on your request until you have done so.

Please do not send us any sensitive personal information as part of your request. Should we require any information beyond your name and email address or phone number, we will contact you to discuss a secure and reliable means of transmitting that information to us.

Our resolution of your request will depend on the nature of the personal data and the purposes of our processing of your data. We reserve the right to decline your request if we are unable to authenticate your identity, if we have a good faith, reasonable, and documented belief that your request is fraudulent, or if your request exceeds what is required of us under applicable law. However, if you are a parent or legal guardian of a recipient, you may revoke your consent to our use of your child’s personal information at any time, including our use of any photos or videos depicting your child for publicity purposes. If we have awarded your child a scholarship, we will discontinue further use of your child’s information but may retain a copy of your child’s application and associated records in accordance with our data retention and compliance policies.

7. Data Security

We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information we collect. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
